T-POD tripods were originally developed for Avalon mounts and are red anodized according to the company colors. You can find these red anodized tripods here: AVALON T-Pod Tripods. For mounts in which the red anod is too strong as a foreign body, we can therefore produce the 110cm and 130cm high T-POD tripods with black anodized surfaces.
The Baader T-Pod aluminum tripod offers an interesting combination of good design and functionality. The low weight and the small packing size combined with the high torsional rigidity and load capacity makes it the perfect companion for travelling observers and astrophotographers.
Several tests and comparisons by us and our customers showed that its rigidity is equal to that of the Baader Hardwood Tripod. Especially the double clamping of the tripods legs is felt as a great improvement compared to the simple clamping devices of many standard tripods. The material mix of anodized aluminum and stainless steel guarantees a long life. A suitable carrying bag is included.
The built-in spreader system allows the tripod to be opened quickly and easily with no loose parts while the double leg locks and included bubble level make it easy to level the tripod and securely lock it in place. The base of the legs can be fitted with ground spikes for soft ground or rubber tips for hard surfaces. The tripods are equipped with a convenient handle for easy transport. There also our "Baader Utility Bag" can be attached, which can hold all the dust covers and other odds and ends (flashlight ..), which are usually desperate sought after an observation night.
The top plate of the black Baader T-POD tripods is modified by Avalon so that all mount flanges can also be mounted directly on the black T-POD tripods. The range of available Baader tripod adapter flanges for mounts ranges from pin flanges for Zeiss IB and Telementor mounts to our NexStar tripod adapter flange for all Celestron SE and EVO telescopes.
It is also possible to adapt mounts by Sky-Watcher / Orion, EQ6 / Atlas and AZEQ6 / Atlas Pro AZEQ-G, Celestron CGEM, Losmandy G11, Takahashi EM200 and Vixen SPHINX and other mounts.
Compatibility will be either native or through the use of an available adapter - we shall gladly advice you.
